Fractals: fractal lines, polylines and curves for rivers and coastliness
- Instant Graph Paper generation: Square grids, Hexagonal grids, Triangular grids, Diamond grids, Polar grids, Rotated Hex grids, Half-Diamond grids or none. The grids can be of any color or size and are fully scalable and designable with secondary grids. Styles for the grids as well for the secondary grids. Grids can be drawn on top of objects.
- Chart navigation rosettes: quick and handy way to make your map look like an antique! It creates old-fashioned chart navigation rosettes as found on very old maps.
- Fill Patterns: All polygon objects can be filled with a bitmap pattern (Black and White only).
- Zoom In/Out and Zoom Percentage Toolbar: Pre-configured numbers of 500%, 400%, 300%, 200%, 150%, 100%, 75%, 50%, 25%,10%, "Fit". But if you want a magnification of 2000% (by example), just put the number and type enter.
- Views: enables you to easily return the map display to a known state. Helps keeping track of and saving a print area, retaining distinct graph paper options to superimpose on a map and switching between views that have different sets of visible or frozen overlays
- Grid

- Transformation functions: Move, scale, rotate, skew, flip, align, and array create transformations
- Full Undo/Redo level support: 20 levels by default. But you could put whatever value who fits your need. AutoREALM protects your work!

- Crosshair cursor for precise alignment (optional) : this is intended to provide a quick mean to align different objects together. But if you want more precision, go to the fully loaded Alignment menu option : menu Transform | Align...

- AutoNAME, a random name generator. Styles available : Arabesque, Dwarven, English, Francais, Japanese, Mad Jack, Player/NPC scores, Orc tribes, Terrible Places and Tolkien. You can paste and copy these names into your maps to add ambient names to your different places.
- Overlays: Multiple layers (10+ and more) with freezing and color-coded viewing
- Glyph line styles like pack-ice, water boundary, and castle walls
- Text fonts: AutoREALM uses the standard Truetype fonts provided with Windows. A new set of seven archaic and runic fonts is provided : AutoREALM, AutoREALM Blackletter, AutoREALM Cuniform, AutoREALM Futhark, AutoREALM Hieroglyphics, AutoREALM Mentelin, AutoREALM Phoenician. Curve-fitted text : text can be curved along a Bezier curve, be left-right-center justified. The classic Bold/Italic/Underline styles are provided, too.

- Printing: you have the choice to print the region you want with these features : Entire Map, Current View, View, Selected Region. Tiling of large maps onto multiple pages for easier printing : you can tile your printout and preview accurately the regions you will be printing. [See the map example "Praras.AuR" to understand.]
- Intuitive interface conforming to Windows standard functions as Manipulating objects, stretching them, moving them, selecting them.
- Saves maps into native AUR formats : support of other well-known file formats BMP, JPG, EMF : Enhanced Windows Metafile, WMF : Windows Metafile
- Full BMP and JPG file support: Bitmaps can be saved from 320*200 resolutions to 1600*1200 and more. A part of the map can be selected for saving. Image smoothing and progressive encoding options are provided as well as Image Quality (0 to 100%) for JPG.
- Support of language DLLs: French, German and Japanese translations are available
- Toolbars with many Menu Icons
